I recently applied for a contract technical writing job at Weebly. I would be good for them. I use Weebly, and I have written API and developer documentation.
Today I went to Boxworks expo. I enjoyed talking with Firebase, Taptera, and CoTap, among others. Around 3 pm, I got a great idea. I'd visit the Weebly office and drop off a resume in primitive papyrus medium (paper). Just to show I am very interested. How far could it be from Moscone to Pacific Avenue?
One mile. Each way. Gee, it looked shorter on Google Maps. Maybe I should have calculated the distance. But long walks are healthy (when you don't get mugged). I did okay, except when I got to Pacific, I found out the Weebly office had moved. After more googling, I found their office on Bryant Street. I walked a little more and delivered the resume, where a nice receptionist said she would give it to the recruiter. I wrote a message on the top of the resume. Something along the lines of: "I walked a very long way to deliver this resume. It was worth every step."
I like seeing Weebly's business expand. Weebly is an easy way to build a website. Very intuitive drag and drop, and for guys like me who like to touch code, you can embed JavaScript (just try that on wordpress.com, oh yeah, you can't).
I use Wordpress to blog my creative writing. I hope Weebly gives Wordpress more competition. I like them both. Wordpress gets me some followers in the aspiring writer world, but Weebly is more fun to use. Go Weebly!!!
